Puttgarden, Germany - June 20
Vordingborg is cool - a castle dating to 1175 (although remaining tower is from 1800s), cute main street where stores mostly close 6pm, lots of green space - seeing off the beaten track places like this is why i like touring. Calling an audible and going to take a ferry to germany rather than go across funen. Saves 150km, a different ferry and crossing a few windy bridges. Started out 50s and sunny, across 3.1 km long windy storstrom bridge (train/car/bike lanes and is getting a rebuild, and there's another bridge 5 miles east. Imagine). Quiet 2 lane road through farm land, and there's still a separate bike lane. Lunch in sakskobing, beautiful farms all the way down to rodbyhavn for ferry to germany. Oh yeah, theyre building a bridge/tunnel to replace this 20km ferry. Imagine. 39 miles.
