Cloppenburg - July 11
Squeezed bertha through the schnoor then
headed south through flat wetlands outside bremen, good weather continues. Trail mostly crushed stone with frequent domesticated wildlife sitings, then riding along red brick bike paths on sidewalks, some quiet farm paved or dirt roads and even a littke single track; google guiding me through the turns. Surprised to see the 19th century Jüdischer Friedhof Wildeshausen (cemetery) with a stone for Holocaust victims, and another cemetery/memorial in cloppenburg. Typical day 2 slow pace, taking lots of random photos - good thing a shorter day planned. Enjoying european details like real plates and flatware at all meals, and light rail tracks not being a cycling hazard. 4.15 arrival at hotel, which has a (huge) TV bigger than the (tiny) shower. And a fan (a first, many smaller places have no A/C). 43 miles, and a few gentle hills (1000' total).
